ARYANA IEV 796 participated in the first long test drive trip on the 12 February 2005. The First AUSTRALIAN INTELLIGENT ELECTIC  VEHICLEThe journey begins from the factory of Ariana-EV Pty. Ltd, at Port Melbourne to Ballarat, Australia. Ballarat is Victoria’s largest inland city. It is famous for being the site of the world’s largest deposit of alluvial gold, and almost a third of all gold found in the colony was taken from its rich quartz reefs. Ballarat is located 110 kms north-west of Melbourne, at the junction of Western and Midlands highways.
Ballarat was exclusively chosen to be the destination of this event to proof IEV 796 able to achieve exceptional performance on difficult road conditions. Western freeway provides a consistent high standard of driving conditions, generally with divided carriageways, sealed shoulders and line marking that is easily visible in all weather conditions. Part of the journey includes winding roads and ultimate accelerated up hill road with high and long gradients.
 With sufficient power and energy, IEV 796 finished the journey in great speed. The tested maximum speed reached up to 120km/h, at the limited maximum speed set by Vic Roads, and at the average speed in 100km/h. In fact, IEV 796 able to reach at the maximum speed of 160km/h. iEV 796 also able to travel in the range of 200km to 300km in a single charge.
